— The ground here

What Southport actually does with water

Southport is the most uniformly old housing stock of any town we serve, and it is not close. The median home was built around 1963, roughly 79% predates 1970 and 92% predates 1980. The town recorded zero units built in the 2000s and none since 2020. There is effectively no new construction here at all.

A town that consistent has consistent problems. Perimeter drains that do not exist, laterals of an age where clay and Orangeburg are both likely, grading done to 1960s expectations, and clear-water connections into the sanitary sewer that were normal practice at the time. Almost every call from Southport is a system reaching the end of its life rather than a system that was designed wrong.

Southport is carved out of the Indianapolis Phase I MS4 and runs its own stormwater program. It is a small, tight town, so like Speedway and Beech Grove, access and equipment size shape the job as much as the dirt does. The honest good news is that the problems are well understood and the fixes are proven, which makes the estimate straightforward once we have looked.

— How it works

Every Southport job starts the same way

Call or text us

Start with a call or a text to (317) 503-6782. Tell us what is going on in your own words. Water pools by the back door. The old driveway has to go. The yard slopes toward the house. You do not need the technical terms and you do not need a plan drawn up. If it is something we handle we will set a time to come look. If it is not, we will tell you that and point you somewhere better if we can.

We walk it with you

Casey comes out and looks at the actual site with you. This part matters more in dirt work than in almost any other trade. Two back yards that sound identical on the phone can be completely different once you see the slope, the access, the soil and where the water wants to go. Walking it together means you can point at the problem and we can talk through options on the spot, including options that cost you less than what you had in mind.

You get a free estimate by email

After the walkthrough we put the estimate together and email it to you, with the scope of work written out so you can see what is and is not included. It is free and there is no pressure attached. Take your time with it and compare it if you want to. Honest pricing only works if you have room to check it.

Free, in writing, with no obligation to move forward. A deposit reserves your spot on the schedule once you approve it.

— Questions

Questions we hear in Southport

Everything in my house is original. Where should I start?

With the water outside, because it is the cheapest thing that fixes the most. Roof water carried away from the foundation and grade that falls away from the house solve a real share of wet basements on housing this age, and they cost a fraction of an excavation. If water is still reaching the wall after that, then exterior work is warranted.

Are my drain and sewer lines likely original too?

On Southport's housing age, yes, that is a reasonable assumption. Clay and Orangeburg are both plausible. A camera inspection settles it and is worth doing before you spend money on a repair that should have been a replacement.

Do you take small jobs?

Yes. A single buried downspout line and a full utility project get the same attention, and small jobs are how a lot of our best relationships have started.

Do you serve Southport?

Yes. Southport is in Marion County, one of the four counties we work. We are based in Brownsburg, and Southport is regular territory.

How much will it cost?

There is no honest way to answer that without seeing the property, because the price is driven by where the water is coming from, how far it has to be carried and what it has to cross. The estimate is free, Casey walks it with you, and you get the scope in writing by email.
