Out with the old, and we pour the new
Plenty of excavating companies will break out your old concrete and haul it away. Fewer will put the new concrete back. We do both, which means one company, one mobilization and one person responsible for how the finished surface looks and drains.
We remove damaged concrete and install durable replacements for residential and commercial properties: sidewalks, driveways, patios, aprons, steps, garage floors and concrete pads. Aprons and steps are the small jobs people put off for years because they cannot find anybody willing to take them. We take them.
The reason old concrete fails is almost never the concrete. It is the base under it and the water around it. A drive that has cracked and heaved usually sat on a base that was never compacted properly, or it has been taking roof water at one corner for a decade. Replacing the slab without fixing either of those buys you a nicer looking version of the same problem. Because we do drainage and grading as our primary work, we are in a position to see that and to fix it in the same visit.
Our process is the same every time. Saw cut the existing concrete where a clean edge is needed. Remove and dispose of the old material. Prepare and compact the stone base, which is the step that determines how long the new pour lasts. Install reinforcement where the application calls for it. Place and finish the concrete. Then apply proper curing methods, because concrete that is allowed to dry too fast is weaker concrete no matter what was in the truck.
